Dr. Maheen Diwan is a Sports Medicine physician with a background in both physical therapy and primary care. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 2008, Dr. Diwan went on to complete medical school at McGill University, graduating in 2012. She then completed her Family Medicine residency in 2014.
With a keen interest in musculoskeletal conditions and point-of-care ultrasound, Dr. Diwan pursued further specialization and earned a Diploma in Sports Medicine in 2019. Since then, she has been performing ultrasound-guided injections to treat a wide variety of joint and soft tissue conditions.
Her clinical focus includes the diagnosis and management of sports and activity-related injuries, as well as degenerative conditions. Dr. Diwan integrates point-of-care ultrasound into her practice, using it as both a diagnostic tool and a guide for targeted therapies.
She is a proponent of lifelong physical activity and strength maintenance as key components of overall health. Her approach includes the use of biologic and regenerative therapies such as Hyaluronic Acid and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), aiming to preserve tissue health and support patients in returning to the activities they love.
Dr. Diwan values a collaborative approach to patient care, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive management for each patient. She has her focused-practice designation in Sports Medicine.
